The course aims to provide students with an advanced understanding of the theories and facts related to
savings, focusing specifically on the taxation of savings within ILRA (Infinite Lives Representative Agent)
models and OLG (Overlapping Generations) models, along with an analysis of the associated empirical
literature. The second part of the course will review theories and facts on socially responsible and ESG
(Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing, and investigate policy issues related to ESG investing,
such as optimal taxation, fiscal reforms, and trade-offs between economic growth and environmental quality.
